Welcome to Doorware using QuickBBS
The following is a set of docs for setting up Doorware type of
doors on your QuickBBS. Remember this is for doors that have the
name "DOORWARE" made by Bob Westcott only.
Other type of doors that are made by other authors may not work
using these instructions!!
It is best to set all your doors up under the "Monitor" program,
but it is NOT required.
>>> The only exception is the Chess program which should be <<<
set up by it self NOT under the monitor.
All instructions are using the monitor program as the example
for setup, but you can just change the name of the program to
whatever program you want.
A.
These instructions are for sysops that have the doors in the same
directory/sub-directory as QuickBBS. If you have your doors in a
different directory/sub-directory then QuickBBS please go to "B."
for instructions for that type of setup.
1. For local operation.
a. Using a type 7 function place on the Optional Data line:
MONITOR.EXE
b. Note the .EXE IS REQUIRED!!
2. For Remote use.
a. Using a type 7 function place on the Optional Data line:
MONITOR.EXE 1
b. The .EXE IS REQUIRED!! The 1 is NOT THE COMM PORT. This
is for furture use if more than one node operation is
allowed on QuickBBS (The '1' IS REQUIRED).
B.
These instructions are for sysops that have the doors in a
different directory/sub-directory then QuickBBS. If you have your
doors in the same directory/sub-directory then QuickBBS please go
to "A." for instructions for that type of setup.
1. For Local operation.
a. Using a type 7 function place on the Optional Data line:
*C GAMESL.BAT
b. All above IS REQUIRED. The name of the batch file is up
to you, BUT remember it MUST be different then the name
of the program you are calling.
c. Look at 3a of this Doc. for a sample batch file.
2. For Remote operation.
a. Using a type 7 function place on the Optional Data line:
*C GAMESR.BAT
b. All above IS REQUIRED. The name of the batch file is up
to you, BUT remember it MUST be different then the name
of the program you are calling.
c. Look at 3c of this Doc. for a sample batch file.
3. Sample batch files:
a. For a Local type operation:
COPY DORINFO1.DEF C:\xxxxx\*.*
CD\xxxxx
MONITOR.EXE
CD\yyyyy
b. xxxxx = sub-directory where your doors are.
yyyyy = sub-directory where QuickBBS is located.
c. For a Remote type operation:
COPY DORINFO1.DEF C:\xxxxx\*.*
CD\xxxxx
MONITOR.EXE 1
CD\yyyyy
c. xxxxx = sub-directory where your doors are.
yyyyy = sub-directory where QuickBBS is located.
